Molybdenum Compounds Supported on Ordered Mesoporous Carbon and Their Influence on the Supercapacitive Properties

2013
Ordered mesoporous carbon supported molybdenum oxides were synthesized via ultrasound-assisted assembly method. Heattreatment was conducted subsequently to obtain molybdenum composites with various oxidation states. The supercapacitive performance of the composites was significantly improved compared to that of virgin mesoporous carbon matrix. The results have shown that different oxidation states of molybdenum influenced the overall electrochemical property of the material significantly. Particularly, composite sample treated at 350 ◦ C containing α-MoO3 exhibited the highest specific supercapacitance, 667.8 F g −1 in 1m ol L −1 KNO3 electrolyte.
