Biofeedback electrical stimulation in treatment of female stress urinary incontinence

Objective:To observe the effect of biofeedback electrical stimulation on female stress urinary incontinence,explore non-operative treatment in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence.Methods:28 cases with female stress urinary incontinence underwent biofeedback electrical stimulation from April 2006 to June 2008,20 minutes/section,once a day,10 sections as one sequence.The effect was observed after three months and followed up for six months.Results:After treatment,the cure rate was 64.3%(18 cases),the alleviation rate was 25%(7 cases),the nullity rate was 12%(3 cases),so the total effective rate was 89.3%(25/28).Conclusion:Biofeedback electrical stimulation is a safe and effective way in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence,but some cases with moderate or severe stress urinary incontinence and old cases still need surgical treatment.
