Cascade mechanism of inelastic interactions of high-energy nuclei

1984
The intranuclear cascade model is used to carry out systematic calculations of inelastic interactions for a wide range of energies and mass numbers. Comparison of the results with experiment indicates that the model contradicts the data already at the pion-production threshold for colliding nuclei with A> or approx. =40.
