Evaluation on Effect of Health Education on Iodine Deficiency Disorders,Jinan City,2012

Objective To discuss the effect of different ways of health education on prevention in Iodine Deficiency Disorders(IDD),so as to provide scientific basis for the improvement of health education mode.Methods Using stratified random sampling method to select 12 towns from 4 counties,and 3 villages in each town,developing health education activities about IDD in primary schools for all residents.Before and after executing this project,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 30 students random selected from only 1 class of the fifth grade in each primary school and 15 housewives who lived around these schools.So if all goes well,we will receive 360 and 180 shares questionnaire separately.By means of assessing these questionnaires,we can see their awareness level and knowledge acquisition ways about IDD.Results Among 360 surveyed,the awareness rate of primary school students before health education was 81.11%,and after health education increased to 97.22%(P0.01),among them it increased the most in Licheng district,from 60.00% to 95.90%(P0.01);in Zhangqiu city it increased the least,from 95.19% to 97.41%(P0.05).The awareness rate of 180 housewives before health education was 85.00%,and after health education it increased 96.11%(P0.01),among them in Pingyin county it increased the most,from 72.59% to 92.59%(P0.01).Conclusion The health education is an effective measure for promoting awareness rate.
