A high-efficiency DC-DC converter for high voltage DC input aeronautical static inverter

2005
This paper proposes a high-efficiency DC-DC converter for high voltage DC input aeronautical static inverter. The proposed converter is composed of dual two-transistor forward DC-DC converter (TTFC), coupled with a single high frequency transformer. The converter operates at a fixed duty cycle ratio near unity. Zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) of the switches are realized with function of transformer leakage inductances and the parasitic capacitances of the switches. There is no voltage oscillation and voltage spike on the secondary rectifier diodes because of output filter capacitor's clamping. Operation principle, output characteristics and ZVS condition of the proposed converter are analyzed. Experimental results obtained from a 270 V input 2 kW 100 kHz prototype are presented. The measured efficiency is 95.93% at full load.
