O consumo da água na cidade de Curimatá - PI: percepção dos moradores do entorno da barragem Vereda da Cruz (The water consumption in the Curimatá city, Piauí, Brazil: perception of the people of the surroundings of the Vereda da Cruz dam)

Atualmente a Educacao Ambiental e uma ferramenta de grande importância capaz de apresentar alternativas que diminuam os problemas ambientais ocasionados pelas acoes antropicas. Diante disso, a proposta deste trabalho foi analisar o consumo da agua atraves da percepcao da populacao do Municipio de Curimata - PI, numa perspectiva da questao ambiental e consumo sustentavel, inter-relacionando com a Educacao Ambiental. O presente estudo foi realizado no Municipio de Curimata-PI, por meio de questionario socioambiental aplicado com moradores da cidade bem como com o gerente regional da Agencia de Agua e Esgoto do Piaui – Agespisa. Nesse estudo percebe-se a notoriedade do tema junto a percepcao da populacao sobre a maneira como e consumida a agua, bem como, suas relacoes com a sustentabilidade, os problemas causados pelo mau uso deste recurso natural, a fonte de abastecimento e as formas de tratamento da agua no municipio. Nota-se ainda, como primordial nesse estudo, a responsabilidade da populacao em relacao ao uso consciente do recurso hidrico, pois a veem como uma contribuicao pessoal / social e ambiental para o futuro melhor. Com essa pesquisa sera possivel desenvolver futuramente acoes socioeducativas a fim de conscientizar a populacao da zona urbana do municipio de Curimata-PI sobre a importância de assumir atitudes sustentaveis em relacao ao uso da agua. A B S T R A C T Currently the Environmental Education is a very important tool able to present alternatives that reduce the environmental problems caused by human actions. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the consumption of water through the perception of the Municipality of Curimata - PI population, in a perspective of environmental issues and sustainable consumption, interrelating with the Environmental Education. This study was conducted in the municipality of Curimata - PI through environmental questionnaire with city residents as well as the regional manager of the Agency for Water and Sewage of Piaui - AGESPISA. In this study we see the theme of awareness by the population's perception of the way the water is consumed, as well as their relationship to sustainability, the problems caused by the misuse of this natural resource, a source of supply and ways to water treatment in the city. Note also, as paramount in this study, the responsibility of the population in relation to the conscious use of water resources, because they see it as a personal / social and environmental contribution for the future. With this research will be possible to develop further social and educational activities in order to raise awareness of the urban area of the municipality of Curimata - PI on the importance of taking sustainable attitudes towards water use.
