Tissue Culture and Rapid Propagation of Ilex purpure Hassk

The segments of shoots with buds were used as explants for tissue culture and rapid propagation of Ilex purpure Hassk.The results showed that the optimal induction medium was MS + 0.9 mg/L BA +0.2 mg/L NAA;the optimal medium for rapid propagation was MS+1.5 mg/L BA+0.5mg/L IBA;the optimal rooting medium was 1/2MS+1.0 mg/L IBA+0.3 mg/L NAA and the rooting rate was 97.5%.The survival percentage of plantlets could be up to 91% through transplanted in the substrate containing vermiculate,pearlite and peat(2∶2∶1,v/v) and cultured at 20～30℃ with the relative humidity of 85%～90% and appropiate shading for 20～25 days.
