Carbamazepine Therapy Complicated by Nodal Bradycardia and Water Intoxication

1979
Summary: A case is reported of water intoxication and cardiac conduction disturbances occurring as a late complication of carbamazepine therapy for trigeminal neuralgia. These uncommon but potentially hazardous complications of therapy are reported because of the wide use of carbamazepine as the agent of choice for trigeminal neuralgia and as an anticonvulsant.
