This issue focuses on the top 400 contractors in the U.S. The transportation sector sector occupied 15.2 percent of the total revenues for 2003. Bechtel was the number one firm on the Top 400 list, with its contracting revenue increasing by 36% from the previous year. The article notes that the heavy and highway construction market had some of the fastest-growing Top 400 firms. Companies are ranked by construction revenue in 2003.
