Effects of different diluents on enantiomeric separation on the modified cyclodextrin stationary phases

1999
The enantiomeric separation of alpha-phenylethylamine and trans-di-chloro-chrysanthemics acid methyl ester was investigated by gas chromatography on the fused-silica capillary columns coated with the mixtures of heptakis(2, 6-di-O-butyl-3-O-butyryl)-beta-cyclodextrin and different diluents(1:1). The chromatographic results indicated that the diluent SP-79 had more or less the same column efficiency and enantioselectivity, compared with the other investigated diluents OV-7, OV-1701, SE-54 and PEG-20M. It was found that the diluents had no effects on the chiral separation mechanisms.
