Les environnements de dépôt du Turonien calcaire de la région de Dieulefit (bassin vocontien, France)

1996
Turonian series in the Dieulefit area were studied both sedimentologically and micropaleontologically. The calcareous Turonian formations represent the transition from an open shelf, through a storm-dominated shoreface into a foreshore sequence of limestones, with a great development of quasi-planar laminated beds. Sigmoidal dunes are interbedded with the previous structures. The qualitative and quantitative evolution of benthonic and planktonic foraminifera population parameters provides precise details about paleoenvironmental conditions. Facies and microfacies data permit us to propose a general deposit facies zonation from foreshore to offshore.
