ION Sensor Signal Fluctuations During Spacecraft Jet Engine Operation

Abstract The paper gives the results of the research of sensor signal fluctuations during jet engine operation on COSMOS-398, SOYUZ, PROGRESS and SALYUT spacecraft. The dependence of the amplitude and phase of ion sensor signal fluctuations on an engine thrust, amount of effluxing gases and direction of a gas jet is described. The change of phase of ion sensor signal fluctuations along the flight track of the spacecraft with orbit inclination of 52° is shown.
