The asymmetric material behavior during tension/compression of magnesium alloy make it unsuitable for the typical continuum based FE analysis to be used in the simulation of magnesium alloy forming process. In this research, we designed a methodology to use crystal plasticity model as a constitutive equation. To predict the behavior of magnesium, alloy in multi-scale level, we implemented VPSC model into rigid plastic FE code which is suitable for the simulation of large deformation process such as rolling, forging and extrusion. Application results are shown for the extrusion and rolling process of pure magnesium.
