Heat pump and control method thereof

The present invention relates to a control method for a heat pump that provides heating to a heating space through heat exchange between an external air and a refrigerant and between the refrigerant and circulating water. The present invention includes the steps of calculating a maximum permissible frequency of a compressor based on a temperature of the external air and a heating load of a heating space; calculating an average operating frequency of the compressor while operating the compressor according to the calculated maximum permissible frequency; recalculating the maximum permissible frequency based on the results of comparison between the average operating frequency and the maximum permissible frequency; and operating the compressor according to the recalculated maximum permissible frequency. According to the heat pump control method, heating efficiency of the heat pump can be improved.
