Temperature Balancing transparent force sensor with a compatible layer

2015
An optically transparent force sensor which can compensate for environmental effects, including, for example, changes in the temperature of the device or the environment. In some examples, two force-sensitive layers by a compliant layer are separated. The relative electrical response of the two force-sensitive layers can be used to calculate an estimate of the force of a contact, which reduces the effect of temperature variations. In some examples, piezoelectric films with anisotropic expansion characteristics are used to reduce the temperature effects.
