Vertical lengthening genioplasty: a new osteotomy technique

ABSTRACT Vertical insufficiency of the chin imbalances the orofacial and aesthetic parameters of the lower third of the face. We here propose a new osteotomy technique for chin lengthening. Our procedure is based on a single osteotomy and it does not require any interposition of a bone graft. In our experience with seven patients, we report good aesthetic and morphometric outcomes at one year.
