Developments in Oil Shale in 1986

Oil shale project development continued at a slow pace in the United States in 1986. The Unocal project in the Piceance basin, Colorado, achieved production at a rate of 4,000-5,000 b/d (639-795 m3/day). Production and project development continued in South America, USSR, central Europe, the circum-Mediterranean area, and Australia.
