Research and Development of Generator Voltage Fluctuating Signal Analysis System

Aiming at solving the key problem of that whether PSS effectively restrain the low frequency oscillation, this paper develops a signal analysis system for the fluctuating generator voltage. The causes and damages of the low frequency oscillation in the power system are firstly analyzed. Meanwhile, the necessity of the PSS installation and performance test is also put forward. Then the working principles, the data analysis process and the main functions of the system are detailedly explained. The presented system has the functions of data real-time display, data storage, data analysis and DSP communication. Finally, the experiment test is taken in the motion simulation laboratory of Nari-Relays Electric Co., Ltd., and the test result is compared with that obtained by the instrument FLC-2 from electrical science institute of China. It is found that the signal analysis system proposed in this paper can accurately test the property to improve the security of the power system. The achievements obtained in this paper have active meaning.
