Biot-Based Geoacoustic Investigation of Lake Arkabutla, Mississippi

2000
Abstract : The need exists for development of in situ techniques for more accurately determining site conditions off shore of dams and levees in lakes and reservoirs within hazard areas. This report describes the use of a new data processing approach utilizing a Biot theory approach to assess acoustic sediment interactions in porous, saturated media. Ramifications of the Biot theory may aid engineering in accurately assessing liquefaction potential of Corps structures.
