Non-linear Behaviour of a Soil Compaction Equipment

2009
This study deal with the modelling and simulation of dynamic behaviour of tamping machine. The authors was developed a new model of the soil, based on more properties such as elasticity, viscosity, plasticity and dry friction. In this work was studied the influence of soil properties on compaction equipment eficiency . On the first approach it was supposed only the vertical tamping movements. The computing software Maple R7 is used for developing the vir- tual instrument for dynamic behaviour simulation, and to solve the resulting system of non- linear differential equations. The simulation results are presented as diagrams of displacement, velocity and acceleration of main parts of system. The results show that the system have non- linear behaviour. This remark is dignified by the time series evolutions, and by comparative analysis between linear and non-linear cases.
