Size Statistics of Extragalactic Radio Sources
2004
We discuss the size statistics of extragalactic radio sources (quasars and radio galaxies). Relations among linear size, luminosity and redshift are studied. The linear width along with the linear length is used in order to reduce the projection effects. An inverse correlation between luminosity and size exists and this may cause an apparent size–redshift inverse correlation. The FR II quasars are smaller than the FR II galaxies. But this might be an apparent relation caused by the luminosity – size relation. The result is consistent with the radio source intermittency.
