Sobre o comportamento anatômico das Chordae tendineae, em relação à valva atrioventricular esquerda, em suínos da raça Landrace

1991
Hearts of 20 male and 20 female, adult  Landrace pigs, was examinated, to study the number and  disposition of the Chordae tendineae relating to atrioventricular valve. The hearts, after cleaning of  the cavities, were fixed in formalin; after that  procedure the atrial wall and, partially, the  ventricular wall were removed, preserving "in situ"  the components of the left valvar complex. It was  reported five different morphological types of Chordae, reunited in two groups: comissural Chordae and cuspidal  Chordae, this with four types. It was also studied, the  number, disposition and the frequence of the Chordae  tendineae that emerging from a certain papillary muscle,  arrive to one or more than one cuspid.
