Operative treatment of primary fibromyalgia (myofibrillosis)

1994
Summary The traditional methods of myofascial pain treatment are not effective because they are not directed at abolishing the source of pathological change. Our investigation revealed four mechanisms for painful syndromes, allowing us a different approach to treatment and the possibility of removing the basic causes of the pain. The results of treating more than 4000 patients with myofascial pain (including 1600 children) prove that gradual fibrotomy of fibrous cords formed in muscles is the only means of pain relief.
