Expression and Clinical Study of Cyclooxygenase-2 and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

2009
Objective:To investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2),vascular endothelial growth factor-c(VEGF-C), in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissue and its relation with the clinicopathalogy features. Methods:The expression of COX-2, VEGF-C in 58 cases of NSCLC were detected by immnohistochemical staining.Rusults:The positive rates of COX-2, VEGF-C in NSCLC tissue were 70.6%、53.4%, respectively. The positive expression rates of COX-2 and VEGF-C were not correlated with the degree of sex, clinical stage (P0.05),but that of VEGF-C correlated remarkably with lymph metastasis(P0.05).There was no relationship between the positive expression rate of COX-2 and VEGF-C (P0.05).Conclusion:The expression of COX-2 and VEGF-C in NSCLC tissue might play a role in lymphatic metastasis via lymphangiogenesis.
