New results on optical properties and term-energy calculations in Cr3+-doped ZnAl2O4

Abstract New optical data on Cr 3+ -nonequivalent centers in ZnAl 2 O 4 have been obtained by using site-selective laser spectroscopy. The nature of the different Cr 3+ sites as well as the relevant crystal field parameters are discussed.
