Numerical simulation of turbulent mixing including concentration fluctuations.

It is known that the degree of mixing of fuel gas and air affects various combustor performances including NOx emission and combustion noise. The objective of this study was to develope a method of predicting the mixing field including concentration fluctuations. In this study, the model called an equal-scale model for concentration was tested for the mixing field of a round turbulent natural gas jet, and the obtained numerical results were compared with the experimental results.
