A performance evaluation of introducing Six-Sigma to aviation related industries in Taiwan

Since Motorola started to promote “Six-Sigma” in 1987, many internationally prestigious large enterprises including Allied Signal, GE, and 3M have put it into practice and enhanced it. Because this “Six-Sigma” project brought these enterprises such outstanding financial performances that other enterprises started to have obsessions with the benefit and effect of introducing Six-Sigma and then started to follow the trend. As a result, it has become the new trend of management in the 21st century. In this research, Performance Evaluation Matrix, Control Chart, Fuzzy Theory and AHP are integrated to construct a systematic model of Self-assessment for the enterprises to do Self-diagnosis of the Six-Sigma performance within the enterprise, and further, to find out the part needs to be improved, so as to accord with corresponding strategies to get the best solution.
