POD and SOD Isozymes Analysis of Lotus Mutants Induced by Fe~+ Ion Implantation

The soluble POD and SOD isozyme solutions were extracted from young tender leaves of the Baiyangdian red lotus mutants induced by Fe+ ion implantation in this experiment.To detect POD and SOD isozymes’ difference among the mutants,the mutants were analyzed by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.The results indicated that,compared with the control,the zymography of POD and SOD isozymes had been changed among the Baiyangdian red lotus mutants;with Rf value of 0.19,M4 and M6 mutants appeared specific POD enzyme band;with Rf value of 0.33,M2,M3,M4 and M5 mutants appeared specific POD enzyme band;with Rf value of 0.55 and 0.63,M1 and M2 appeared specific POD enzyme band;With Rf value of 0.41,M1,M2,M4,M5 and M6 mutants simultaneously appeared specific SOD enzyme band.Therefore,the POD and SOD isozymes could be used to identify the different lotus mutants.
