Lockable pipe connection

1987
Collar (6) is retained by ring 8 on the male end (1) and has recess (10) in which engages a flange (13) formed by the end of the female socket (3). Axial locking is achieved by virtue of a ring (14) having external lugs (17) able to cooperate according to the so-called "bayonet" system with radial lugs (16) provided at the entrance to the recess (10) of the collar (6). The ring (14) may thus be locked axially between the flange (13) of the socket (3) and the lugs (16) of the collar (16), which ensures axial locking of the pipes. A cotter (22 Fig. 1) prevents any accidental rotation of the ring (14). This construction allows the pipe having the female socket to be a solid of revolution, simplifying its manufacture.
