Flora y vegetación de la Reserva Ecológica Caletones, Gibara, Holguín, Cuba / Flora and vegetation of the Caletones Ecological Reserve, Gibara, Holguín, Cuba

RESUMEN En este trabajo se presenta el inventario floristico de la Reserva Ecologica Caletones. Para esto se exploraron varias localidades dentro del area de las que se hicieron listas de la flora y se recolectaron especimenes para herbario. Se identificaron un total de 466 especies de plantas nativas e introducidas, que crecen en ocho tipos de vegetacion naturales o en la vegetacion secundaria. El bosque siempreverde microfilo y el matorral xeromorfo costero y subcostero poseen la mayor riqueza floristica. Las especies endemicas representan el 16 % entre las especies nativas. Se encontraron poblaciones de 26 especies amenazadas. El area protegida posee buen estado de conservacion a pesar de la observacion de impactos negativos como la tala parcial del bosque siempreverde microfilo y la presencia de especies exoticas. Palabras clave: area protegida, endemismo, especies amenazadas, especies invasoras, vegetacion ABSTRACT The inventory of the flora in the Ecological Reserve Caletones is presented in this paper. Several localities inside this area were explored and the floristic lists were made and herbarium specimens were collected. A total of 466 species of native and introduced species of plants were identified, which grow in eight different types of natural vegetation or in the secondary vegetation. The microphyllous evergreen forest and the coastal and subcoastal xeromorphic thicket have the highest floristic richness. The endemic species represent 16 % among all the native species identified. Populations of 26 threatened species were found. The protected area shows good state of conservation in spite of some negative impacts such as partial cutting of the microphyllous evergreen forest and the presence of exotic species.
