Authentic assessment for experiential learning

How can experiential learning be meaningfully assessed?  We discuss a framework of authentic assessment principles to inform the design and use of assessment strategies for experiential learning.  In addition, we will provide examples from education and nursing to illustrate how these principles have been used to inform assessment strategies.
