Criteria for catalyst selection in Briggs-Rauscher oscillatory chemical reactions

M(n+1)+ /Mn+ transition metal redox pairs with potential in the range of at least from 0.7 to 1.7 V vs. NHE may be used as catalysts for the Briggs-Rauscher oscillatory chemical reaction if intrasphere reaction of the metal ion with the substrate is possible.
