[Electric and mechanic gastric activity under insulin, penta-gastrin, carbachol and food ingestion in the wakeful dog].

: The effect of insulin, pentagastrin, carbachol and feeding on the electrical and mechanical activity of the stomach was examined in the conscious dog. In these experiments vagal stimulation, a gastric hormone, a parasympathetic agent and distention elecited a similar stimulation of electrical and mechanical activity. The activation occurred in case of insulin only after sufficient lowering of the blood glucose level, in case of the other tested stimulants after a few minutes.
