GHmRNA content in the fetal pituitary increased gradually with ages and reached a maximal level at 24 to 26 weeks. Serum concentration of growth hormone was variable, Serum concentration of thyroxine and serum concentration of cortison was correlated positively with growth hormone messenger ribonucleic acid, but no correlation with serum growth hormone concentration.
