Potential Impact of Radiation Biology in Radiation Protection in Nuclear Medicine and Corresponding Regulatory Issues

2012
Radiation biology has paved the way to radiation therapy. Modern immunofluorescence techniques are completely transforming radiation biology: individual radiosensitivity is a factor to be taken into account. There is still a gap between abnormalities of DNA lesions signalization and repair pathways and cancer. Better dosimetry is needed for radionuclide therapy. No major changes in radiation protection regulations to be seen in the coming years
