Food supplier selection: An application of the additive veto model

2017
Supplier selection problems have been increasingly treated as multicriteria decision problems since evaluating them must take into account several objectives. In many problems, all criteria can be treated as order-winner factors. However, in some cases, the decision maker (DM) needs to consider qualifier factors as criteria. To allow the DM to include such factors, a veto function must be included to represent properly the DM's preference structure. This article presents an application of the Additive-veto model for the ranking problematic in the food supply industry using a decision support system (DSS). The veto function was considered to represent the qualifier factors. In addition, a sensitivity analysis, run in the DSS was conducted so as to verify the robustness of the recommendation.
