Considerations on the Pole Pitch Length of a Linear Parametric Motor with an Open Magnetic Circuit (Motor and Actuator)

This paper describes the effect of the pole pitch length on the characteristics of a linear parametric motor with an open magnetic circuit. When the pole pitch length τ is 44 mm, the static thrust becomes maximum at C = 148 μF, with a maximum value of 14.1 N. The thrust-to-mass ratio of a motor with τ = 44 mm is approximately 1.7 times higher than that of a motor with τ =70 mm.
