Mixing hydrodynamics research during the ammonium polyuranate deposition

Mixing hydrodynamics simulation in the apparatus was carried out using the ANSYS Fluent computational package. The numerical hydrodynamics simulation results for the different mixing device operation modes are presented. In particular, the velocity fields, the particles motion trajectories, their residence time in the apparatus with the mixing device. The following drawback in the apparatus operation were revealed: particles with a short residence time prevalence, low mixing efficiency, irregularity suspension distribution in the reactor volume, regardless of the operating modes and agitator rotation directions.
