Preparation, characterization of Rhodamine 6G nanocomposites and their application in labelling cancer cells

2016
AbstractSpherical silica nanoparticles containing Rhodamine 6G dyes were prepared using an improving Stober method. The nanocomposites were almost mono-dispersed. Excitation and emission peaks of entrapment of Rhodamine 6G dye molecules in the silica matrix showed no obvious shift compared with that of Rhodamine 6G. The photostability of Rhodamine 6G doped SiO2 nanoparticles was enhanced by about three times in solution. From lung cancer cells uptake of Rhodamine 6G doped silica nanocomposites, it was concluded that nanocomposites were incorporated into these cells.
