Apparatus for providing and preventing access to a pathway of liquid of a gastrostomy tube through the abdominal wall of a patient to inside the patient's stomach, the apparatus comprising: a first connector (60) having a valve assembly ( 50) disposed inside a flange (55), the valve assembly (50) having a first platform (83) with a first through hole (54) therethrough and a second platform (81) with a second through hole (51) therethrough, wherein the first platform (83) is adapted to be positioned adjacent the skin of the patient, optionally a flange portion (55) is located between the first platform (83) and the patient's skin pathway and fluid gastrostomy tube is adjacent the first through hole (54), and wherein a retainer (80) retains the first platform about the second platform (81) so that the second platform can rotated with resp ecto to the first platform (83) between a first position and a second position, so that in the first position, the through first holes (54) and second (51) are aligned to give access to the path of liquids and so in the second position the through holes first (54) and second (51) are offset to provide sealing liquid to a proximal end of the gastrostomy tube and to prevent access to the path of liquid, wherein the apparatus comprises additionally an elastomer (82) fixed to the second platform (81) and sandwiched between the second (81) first platform (83) and.
