Ultrafast response and recovery of single crystalline α-Fe2O3 nanorhombohedrons for trimethylamine sensing applications

Abstract The single crystalline α-Fe 2 O 3 nanorhombohedrons are synthesized by a facile solvothermal method followed with a subsequent annealing process. As-fabricated α-Fe 2 O 3 nanorhombohedrons based sensor exhibits ultrafast response and recovery time ( 3+ and Fe 2+ ions. In addition, a possible growth mechanism is proposed. The excellent sensing properties and facile synthesis method make as-prepared α-Fe 2 O 3 nanorhombohedrons a promising candidate for TMA detecting application.
