Modification of the Selectron standard applicator for gynaecological treatments

The Selectron standard gynaecological applicator is a modified Fletcher–Suit applicator. It consists of one intrauterine and two ovoid tubes. It is very important, especially if high-activity sources are used, that both intrauterine and ovoid tubes stay in constant positions during the treatment. We have found that the intrauterine tube of this applicator was rather difficult to hold at a constant angle in the uterus.
