Device and method for measuring atmospheric coherence length of mobile beacon

2010
The invention discloses a device and a method for measuring the atmospheric coherence length of a mobile beacon. The device consists of a beacon light source, a light source carrier, a receiving telescope, a rotating cloud deck, a subsequent imaging system, an analog or digital CCD camera and a computer, wherein the beacon light source is fixed on the light source carrier to move during measurement; light emitted from the light source passes through the turbulent atmosphere to form two faculae vertically arrayed on a target face of the analog or digital CCD camera through the receiving telescope and the subsequent imaging system; converted digital images are sent to the computer for processing; and according to the data processing results, the computer controls the analog or digital CCD camera to change parameters, automatically adjust image qualities and perform the identification and extraction of targets so as to measure the atmospheric coherence length. The device and the method have the advantages of greatly expanding the working range of an atmospheric coherence length meter, effectively reducing errors caused by different levels of operators, achieving more real and reliable measurement results and greatly improving the properties of the atmospheric coherence length meter.
