Budżet partycypacyjny i jego rola na przykładzie miasta stołecznego Warszawy

The aim of the article is to present the essence and objectives of the participatory budget and to try to indicate its role on the example of the capital city of Warsaw. Conducted analyses covered the measurement of the amount of participation budget, its share in the total budget of each district and the amount of participation budget per capita. The number of projects submitted and the share of people participating in voting for projects to be implemented within the budget survey in the population were used as the measures of local community participation in co-decision on budget allocation. The results of the analyses also indicated the problems connected with the implementation of the participatory budget in Warsaw.
