Abstract Food availability is a concern for all regions. Thus it should be provided for all communities adequately. This study determines the availability of food including energy and protein in 2013, food consumption of household, and desirable dietary pattern in Badung Regency in 2014. This was a cross sectional study using 480 households. Data of food availability was collected from local relevant agencies and primary data including household food consumption was collected using 2 times 24 hours recall method. The availability of energy and protein average in Badung 2013 are 2,161 kcal/capita/day (98.2 % of Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA)) and 46.04 grams/capita/day (80.77 % of RDA) respectively. The averages of energy and protein consumption in household in 2014 had exceeded the RDA were 2,167 kcal/capita/day (RDA = 2,000 kcal/capita/day) and 76.1 grams/capita/day (RDA=52 grams/capita/day). The Score of desirable dietary pattern of household in Badung in 2014 was 95.51. Monitoring the availability of food is important to provide a periodical data, which could be used for food and health policies planning.
