A view of the future

A review of the topics covered in the conference on ‘‘nuclei far from stability’’ held in 1987 at Rosseau Lakes, Ontario, Canada is presented. Topics in this conference included nuclear mass, nuclear moment, and nuclear radii measurements, decay properties (β decay, γ‐spectroscopy, neutron spectroscopy), and isomeric nuclei. Four reactions were used to study these nuclei, i.e., fission, spallation or projectile fragmentation, multinucleon transfer, and heavy ion fusion reactions. (AIP)
