Functional Mitral Regurgitation Treatment with MitraClip: Difficult Transseptal Puncture with Anterior Approach Complicated by Right Atrial Thrombus

2013
This case describes a challenging MitraClip case in which there were technical difficulties with the transseptal puncture. This was further complicated by the presence of a right atrial thrombus, which was successfully aspirated and removed. The difficult transseptal puncture led to an “aorta-hugger” scenario which was successfully managed by advanced steering techniques.
