Belgian senate votes to extend euthanasia to children

“Children with life-limiting/threatening conditions can be psychosocially developed beyond their childhood years; due to the demands of their condition and related treatment regimens. There is scope for these children to be deemed competent to make treatment choices. Bringing the Bill forward may create a more open attitude towards children about their illness and their wider needs.
