Hear and Be Heard

One of #DisruptTexts principles pushes educators to "center the authentic voices and lived experiences of people of color." It does not call for banning any text. She wanted to provide the best inclusive and relevant content. This includes texts that pushed their understanding of what literature is and who gets to write it, particularly with the voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color authors.
