The current methods of vehicles disinfection have various shortcomings. In order to solve them, the detailed design criterion with vehicles disinfection system are needed. But those criterion for trench and tunnel have not been suggested yet. So this study was carried out to establish the design criterion for development of the trench and tunnel for vehicles disinfection. The experiment was conducted with the trench and tunnel newly designed for vehicle disinfecting system. The evaluation items for the trench were the decontamination effect for vehicle wheels, optimum height of the trench and heating effect of the immersion heater for maintaining optimum temperature of immersion disinfection water. The evaluation items for the tunnel were the windbreak effect of the tunnel and heating effect of the air fan heater for maintaining optimum air temperature in the tunnel. The results showed that the decontamination effect of the trench for vehicle wheels and windbreak effect of the tunnel were so good, while the others had little effect. Therefore, it is desirable to apply a boiler instead of the immersion heater. And it is preferably not applied the air fan heater in tunnel. In addition, the optimum height of the trench for the smooth passage of cars was about 50 mm.
